I'm a grown-up now, but I miss my D&D. When I was first whisked away into worlds of fantasy adventures by First Quest (and that audio CD!) back in 1994 my friends and I had all the time in the world to put away our schoolbooks, strap on our swords and venture off on fantastical adventures.
Now, we are in our 30's and juggling work and postgraduate studies and partners and babies it just seems too hard to get a band of stalwart heroes all together at the same time. My last attempt ran really well and was great fun when we could get the crew together, but like so many campaigns general business and scheduling problems proved our undoing and the campaign sputtered out.
While this isn't an uncommon experience, there also seem to be lots of people out there fitting wonderful campaigns into grown-up life who have been gracious enough to share their experiences online, and I hope to use their wisdom to make D&D work for my own life-stage.
This is a blog about setting up and running a D&D campaign which hopefully survives and thrives amidst the constraints of adult life.
